How to pay the Gatwick drop off charge in 2024

Gatwick drop off charge
For both the North and South Gatwick Airport Terminals, the drop off charge is a fee of £6 (for 10 minutes). The Gatwick drop off charge applies to every vehicle that makes a journey through these terminals.
Charges:
- £6 for 10 minutes
- £1 for every additional minute up to 20 minutes
- A maximum charge of £26 and the maximum length of stay 30 minutes
Once you have left either of the terminals, the London Gatwick drop off charge must be paid by midnight the night after you visit.
How to pay the Gatwick drop off charge?
There are three ways in which you can pay the Gatwick drop off charge: two of these are online payment options, and you can also pay over the phone. You will not be able to pay either of the drop off charges in the terminals themselves.
Payment options:
- Autopay – With Autopay, you can register your vehicle and bank details when you set up an account. After each visit you will be charged automatically and will not have to worry about forgetting to pay and eventually receiving a PCN.
- Pay Online – If you do not have an Autopay account and have used the drop off zone, simply provide your vehicle registration and pay using this service.
- Over the phone – If you would like to pay over the phone you can call the automated payment line on 0330 174 4503.

What happens if you fail to pay the Gatwick drop off charge?
If you fail to pay the Gatwick drop off charge by midnight the next day you will receive a PCN for £100, which can be reduced to £60 if you pay the PCN within 14 days.

Can you drop off passengers for free at London Gatwick?
When dropping passengers off at London Gatwick, there are Long Stay Parking options that allow you to park up to 2 hours for free.
You can find the directions the Long Stay car parks here. Once you have arrived take a ticket at the barrier. When you are ready to leave, use the same to ticket to scan and exit.
This isn’t the most popular option as it is situated quite far from the terminal. The shuttle buses are free from the Long Stay car parks to the airport, but they can take up to 20 mins.
